A scenic cruise of captivating contrasts, featuring the elegance of historic Heidelberg, the charm of quaint Boppard, the medieval allure of Strasbourg, and the timeless beauty of the magnificent Rhine Gorge.
This river cruise also has dedicated departures available for solo travellers. Please enquire or call for more information
Day 1: Arrive in Cologne
Fly to Dusseldorf or Cologne, or take the Eurostar to Brussels. On arrival, transfer to the ship which is docked in Cologne. Enjoy some time to settle into your cabin
Day 2: Koblenz and Boppard
Awake to the sight of vine-covered valleys as you glide into Koblenz. Admire its collection of castles and churches during a guided tour and free time to explore. Return to the ship for lunch as you cruise to Boppard, the ‘Pearl of the Rhine’. Here you’ll have free time to explore before dinner, followed by a live performance of Rhenish folk music.
Day 3: Rhine Gorge & Mainz
Leave Boppard and sail through the Rhine Gorge, taking in the high cliffs as you pass. Arrive in Mainz, where you’ll take a guided tour, ending at St Stephan’s Church, known for its beautiful windows. Enjoy some free time after.
Day 4: Heidelberg
After cruising down river in the night, you’ll disembark after breakfast for a drive to Heidelberg. A guided walking tour reveals its highlights—the castle, the old stone bridge with twin towers, and hidden corners of the romantic Altstadt—before leaving you free to explore. Return to the ship for lunch, with the afternoon open to relax on board or discover Mannheim. Alternatively, stay longer in Heidelberg, enjoy lunch at your leisure, and rejoin the group in Mannheim mid-afternoon for free time.
Day 5: Strasbourg and Colmar
Cross over into France and visit the charming city of Strasbourg. You’ll have two options today. The first is to take a guided tour of Strasbourg in the morning, returning to the ship for lunch before having the afternoon free to explore. The other is to journey to Colmar in the morning, before returning to Strasbourg for a guided tour in the afternoon.
Day 6: Rüdesheim
After a leisurely morning cruise, arrive in Rüdesheim after lunch with free time to explore this quintessential Rhine town. You can also choose one of our included experiences: visit Siegfried’s Mechanical Music Cabinet to discover intricate self-playing instruments, or ride the cable car over vineyards to the Niederwald monument. This evening on board, enjoy the Chef’s Dinner.
Day 7: Cologne
Enjoy magnificent views as you pass through the Rhine Gorge on your way to Cologne. Upon arrival, choose between a tour of the Old Town or a expert-led tour of the Cathedral.
