Water Activities

With a huge range of options, there’s something for everyone on the water. Included in your holiday are dinghy sailing, windsurfing, water-skiing, wakeboarding, paddle boarding, and kayaking. For diving, partner with Lefkada Diving Centre and book through the resort team. Wakesurfing is also available locally for a supplement.

Dinghy Sailing & Windsurfing

Gentle morning breezes that build through the afternoon make this an ideal spot to strengthen your skills. Calm south Ionian waters and easy beach launching are perfect for beginners and intermediates.

All tuition follows the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) scheme, with group sessions available for all levels. A wide choice of dinghies and windsurf boards is provided, including junior and adult rigs.

Water Skiing & Wakeboarding

Flat, glassy mornings create excellent conditions for water skiing and wakeboarding. A ski pontoon just off the beach gives easy access to the boats.

Each guest receives 2 free tows per week (3 on 10 or 11-night holidays), with upgrade packs available. Equipment includes skis, boards, mono-skis, wakesurf boards, and wakeskates.

Kayaking & Paddle Boarding

Calm waters and an interesting coastline make kayaking and paddle boarding ideal for exploring. Simply head to the waterfront, where the team will help you get started.

Guided kayak safaris are also available. Equipment includes single and double kayaks, wave kayaks, paddleboards, and an XXL board for up to 8 people.

Yacht Sailing

The marina is home to a large fleet of Neilson yachts, available for skippered day sails or stay-and-sail holidays.

Stay-and-sail combines a week at Vounaki Beach Club with a week sailing the stunning south Ionian coastline as part of a flotilla.

Cycling

The nearby Acarnanian Mountains offer fantastic terrain for cyclists, from challenging road climbs and scenic trails to gentler routes through villages and secluded beaches. Guided rides run daily, or you can explore independently.

Bikes available include Trek X-Caliber 9 mountain bikes and Trek Domane AL4 road bikes. If bringing cleated cycling shoes, we recommend bringing your own pedals for the best fit.

Tennis

Enjoy two tennis courts and expert coaching through the Mark Petchey tennis programme. Free daily group sessions are tailored to all abilities, from beginners to experienced players.

A friendly weekly tournament is also held, giving everyone the chance to join in. Adult and children’s Wilson rackets are provided.

Fitness & Swimming

Stay active with classes including Zumba, aqua, mobility stretch, indoor cycling, interval training, and workout sessions. There’s also a functional fitness studio, indoor cycling studio, and Les Mills BODYPUMP™ classes.

Cool off in the pool, try new swim sessions, enjoy open-water swimming, or add swim coaching for extra guidance.

Wind Conditions

Light morning winds build into a pleasant afternoon breeze, creating ideal conditions for learning to sail or progressing your skills. Further out in the bay, winds can reach a steady Force 3–4.

Rest & Relaxation

Unwind in the treatment rooms with a range of TEMPLESPA treatments. Popular options include the Champagne & Truffles facial and Aaaah! leg and foot energiser.

All of Neilson’s Kids’ clubs run 6 out of 7 days: on 4 of these days, they run from 9.30 am-12:30 pm & 2:30 pm-5:30 pm; the other 2 days, they run from 2:30 pm-11 pm.

Starfish Creche

Fun activities including building sandcastles on the beach as well as playing and painting in the clubhouse. Drinks and snacks are included during the creche’s operating hours

There’s an abundance of group activities for the Sharksters to take part in during the day, before enjoying fun evening socials.

Stingrays
10-11 years
Lots of team activities on offer, followed by movies nights and social evenings with their new friends.

Surf Squad
12-13 years
Fun filled days of learning new skills, with a variety of social evening events, including movie nights and BBQs

Wave Riders
14-15 years
Teenagers can take part in as many activities as they wish or they can join in with the adult tuition sessions.

TAG
16-17 years
While older teenagers can join in with the adult tuition sessions, they can also get involved with the fun activities such as quizzes and excursions run by the club.

Hot Shots
8-13 years
This alternative club for those aged 8 to 13 years old is perfect for those wanting focus sailing tuition, with courses following the RYA’s youth scheme

Evening childcare
All of the inclusive Kids’ clubs offer two nights of evening care each week. For those aged under 5, a sleep club is available at an extra cost on three additional evenings..For those ages 6 to 17 years, these three alternative evenings of care are free.

Kids facilities at Vounaki

For those travelling with babies or toddlers, the Beachclub may be able to provide the following:

In resort, there is a 24-hour baby room, where parents are able to sterilise and prepare bottles, and feed younger children/babies.

There is a selection of rooms available at Vounaki, all of which are bright and airy and have a traditional Greek feel to them. There are double/twin rooms. Some of these also feature sofa beds. There are also interconnecting and mezzanine rooms which are great for larger groups and families.

After activities, unwind with a refreshing drink at the beach bar, or spend the evening on the deck bar terrace watching the sun set over the bay.

Inclusive evening meals are served on Saturday, Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday in the buffet restaurant. On other evenings, you can choose a pizza or burger from the pool bar or explore the local tavernas in nearby Paleros.

Yes. Neilson Vounaki Beach Club offers inclusive tennis activity weeks, with an exciting specialist week coming in 2026 featuring Mark Petchey (dates to be confirmed). 

Mark Petchey – former top-100 ATP player and former coach to Andy Murray and Emma Raducanu – has designed Neilson’s tennis programmes. These run daily at the Beachclub and are included at no extra cost. 

Guests can enjoy:

Local Area

The charming Greek village of Paleros is just ten minutes from the Beach Club. Peaceful and traditional, it offers lovely beaches, authentic tavernas, welcoming bars, and a warm local atmosphere.

For a livelier change of pace, Lefkas Town and Preveza are both worth visiting, with bustling streets, shops, and vibrant waterfront settings.

Lefkas Town

The island’s capital is an easy local bus ride away and ideal for a day or evening trip. Explore narrow lanes lined with boutiques, lively squares filled with tavernas, and a busy quayside with yachts and fishing boats.

Day Sails & Sunset Cruises

Take to the water on a skippered Neilson yacht and discover the stunning coastline. Relax on deck, visit secluded bays for swimming or snorkelling, and enjoy the warm sea breeze.

For something extra special, choose a sunset cruise and watch the sun dip below the horizon with a glass of bubbles in hand.
