You’ll continue to Venice, a truly unique city, with a network of charming canals we explore by gondola. Then on to Rome, where you visit many famous sights and uncover the secrets of Ancient Rome at the Colosseum. Here, you can enjoy delicious local cuisine in the Jewish quarter and visit Frascati to learn about traditional artisanal winemaking. This holiday is ideal for the traveller who loves history, culture, and scenic rail journeys.

Day 1 – Journey to Turin
Journey from London to Paris on the Eurostar, where you’ll board a high-speed train southwards. Arrive in Turin in the late afternoon and enjoy some free time to settle into the hotel and explore.
Day 2 – Turin
Take a walking tour of Turin, exploring its history and architecture. Turin is home to many famous chocolatiers, and you’ll be able to enjoy some tastings. In the afternoon, you’ll have some free time to explore the city at leisure.
Day 3 – Turin to Venice
After breakfast, travel across Northern Italy on a high-speed train. Upon arrival, enjoy a gondola ride.
Day 4 – Venice
Explore Venice on foot with a guided walking tour, visiting the Doge’s Palace, St Mark’s, and the Bridge of Sighs. In the afternoon, you’re free to explore as you wish. Take a trip to Murano, famous for its glass, or visit the Gallerie dell’Accademia or the Guggenheim to see some art.
Day 5 – Venice to Rome
Leave Venice and journey to Rome, with time in the afternoon to settle into the hotel and explore. An evening stroll brings you to Trastevere, Rome’s Jewish quarter where you’ll taste local dishes and wines.
Day 6 – Rome
After breakfast, take a sightseeing tour of the city, including a visit to Piazza Navona, the Spanish Steps and the Trevi Fountain. This afternoon gives you more free time to explore at your own pace.
Day 7 – Ancient Rome & the Colosseum
Take a guided tour of the Colosseum in the morning, learning more about the city’s ancient history. After time to have lunch, you’ll travel to Frascati, famous for its wine production.
Day 8 – Rome to France
First thing in the morning, begin the train journey back to France. The first leg of the journey brings you to Milan, where you’ll change trains and travel through Switzerland, arriving in France in the early evening. You’ll stay for one night in France.
Day 9 – Return Home
Continue your journey back to the UK, travelling to Paris by TGV before transferring to the Eurostar for the journey back to London.

The Starhotels Majestic is centrally located in a grand 19th-century mansion with recently refurbished rooms. The hotel’s restaurant serves Piedmont and international dishes, while refreshments such as Piedmont wines and snacks can be enjoyed at the convivial bar.
Hotel Principe, Venice – 4*
Conveniently located just a few minutes’ walk from Venice train station, this is a classic hotel with typically Venetian antique furniture. The features a bar and restaurant with a terrace overlooking the Grand Canal.
Radisson Blue GHR, Rome – 4*
Housed in an iconic building, complete with frescoes and white marble, this hotel is located in the smart Parioli area north of the city centre (with frequent public transport links into the centre). The rooms are elegantly furnished, and the hotel has a lounge bar as well as a restaurant with panoramic views.
