Day 1: Arrive in Porto
Fly to Lisbon or Porto and transfer to your 5-star ship, with the rest of the day to settle into your cabin.

Day 2: Pinhão
Leaving Porto during breakfast, you’ll spend most of today sailing before arriving back in
Pinhão. Here you’ll visit a historic quinta to learn about wine production and enjoy a tasting.

Day 3: Castelo Rodrigo
Early risers can watch as the ship departs for today’s peaceful journey down river. In the afternoon, visit Castel Rodrigo, a medieval walled visit that was a resting place for those on the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela. After dinner, see a celebratory vintage port wine opened in the traditional way.

Day 4: Salamanca
Today, visit the Spanish city of Salamanca and take a guided tour, seeing its two cathedrals and university. Then, enjoy a lunch of local tapas accompanied by a traditional flamenco show. There’s free time this afternoon to explore before returning to the ship.

Day 5:
Mateus Palace or Régua Douro Museum
Spend the morning sailing to Fologosa. From here you can either visit the beautiful Mateus Palace or stay on the ship and continue to Peso da Regua. Here you’ll visit the Douro Museum to learn about the region’s winemaking traditions. Once everyone has return to the ship, travel to Quinta da Pacheca for dinner accompanied by their wines.

Day 6: Lamego
Take a short drive to Lamego, home of Portugal’s sparkling wine and the ancient Sanctuary of Our Lady of Remedies church, its staircase adorned with traditional painted ceramic tiles. Back on board, enjoy lunch before an afternoon of relaxed sailing. Tonight’s dinner is followed by a performance of traditional Portuguese music.

Day 7: Porto
Return to Porto, where you’ll get a guided tour of the city, seeing some of its major sights. After lunch, visit a port wine cellar to learn about its history and close British connections followed by a tasting. The rest of the afternoon is free to explore Porto at your own pace before the ‘Chef’s Dinner’ back on the ship.

Day 8: Return home
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your return flight home.
