Ride the shuttle trains of the Matterhorn Gotthard Railway up to the traffic-free Alpine resort.
Travel along the route of the world-famous Glacier Express – through looping tunnels and dizzying viaducts, a glorious adventure in the scenic heart of the Swiss Alps, only possible by rail.
Welcome to Switzerland! Prepare yourself for varied modes of transport, all of which showcase the majesty of the snow-capped mountains, the glaciers, sparkling lakes, flower-filled meadows and the beauty of the rich, green valleys. Transfers from Geneva airport to your hotel depart at 11:00, 13:00 and 16:00. Meet your Travel Director and travel companions at 18:00, followed by a short stroll to your Welcome Dinner hosted at Au Petit Chalet. The evening is full of Swiss delight as you enjoy the cosy, chalet-style decor while being served typical Swiss specialities including mouthwatering chocolate fondue for dessert!
Your tour begins with the highlights of Geneva.
Travel to the Great Arc of Lake Geneva where a Local Expert meets you at to show you around the medieval Chillon Castle.
With plenty of activities such as swimming or hiking, enjoy free time away from the guides.
Make your way down to Täsch to rejoin the coach where you will then ascend the Simplon Pass. There are over 50 excursions on offer on the serene Lake Lugano or maybe just relax and indulge in an Italian style dinner in a quaint fishing village?
On arrival at the cosmopolitan resort of St. Moritz, a brief orientation will show you the museum with its traditional ‘sgraffito’ façade house and the spa quarter.
‘Scenic Train Ride’ is a modest way to describe the Glacier Express which offers views across the Swiss Alps.
You will walk a scenic path alongside the dramatic Walensee and Lake Zurich then bringing you to Lucerne.
Begin your morning with a gentle stroll alongside the lakesides promenades where you can stumble upon many shops selling fine watches. There’s also time to hire a bicycle and a pleasant ride beside Lake Lucerne.
Goodbye Zurich with a morning transfer to the airport. Please do not schedule any flights before 10.00am. Meals Included: Buffet Breakfast.
