Peisey Vallandry Ski Holidays
Peisey-Vallandry is a family-focussed resort situated in the beautiful Tarentaise Valley in the Savoy region of the French Alps, lying in the shadow of the Vanoise Express, the double-decker cable car that links Les Arcs and La Plagne. Peisey-Vallandry is therefore at the very heart of the Paradiski Ski area, one of the largest ski domains in the world, with 425km of pistes. It is perfectly placed for exploring both resorts, whether you are a beginner or have Olympian dreams, and everything in between! When it opened in 2003, the Vanoise Express gondola was the biggest, longest and fastest cable car in the world, and is capable of carrying 2,000 people per hour on the 4-minute, 2 km journey.
Beginners and intermediates will love La Foret, one of the finest and most enjoyable blue runs in the French Alps, ideal for cruising and perfecting your technique, and with inspiring scenery at every turn. The perfect combination of red and blue runs are found just above Arc 1800 towards the pretty villages of Peisey and Vallandry. Peisey-Vallandry itself has beautiful pine-forested slopes, perfect for fast cruising, with many runs above 2000 metres high. A more challenging but hugely satisfying run is the Aiguille Rouge in Les Arcs, always popular with more advanced skiers.
The resort itself is quieter than its noisy neighbours, making it ideal for families and for those who no longer look for (or can keep up with!) a lively apres-ski scene. There’s still a good choice of charming restaurants and bars. Most of the accommodation dotted around Peisey-Vallandry is ski-in/ski-out or no more than 150m from the slopes. Stunning views of Mont Blanc will provide a regular backdrop for your ski holiday.
