Day 1: Fly to Tromso

Fly to Tromsø, Norway and check in to the Radisson Blu Tromsø for three nights. Offering views of the majestic mountains and the waterfront, the Radisson provides the ideal base for Arctic adventure. Perhaps enjoy a Mack beer from the world’s northernmost brewery at the hotel’s Rorbua Pub.

Day 2: Aurora Basecamp Safari

Spend the day exploring Tromsø at leisure, perhaps visiting the Art Museum of Northern Norway or the Arctic Cathedral. After dark embark on an aurora adventure and head into the wilderness to search for the northern lights with a local guide. Aurora sightings at this remote location are as high as 93%. (B,D)

Day 3: Optional Excursions

Make use of a free day to take part in optional winter activities. Perhaps enjoy a husky safari through the Norwegian wilderness or marvel at glittering scenery whilst being pulled across snowy fields on a reindeer sleigh. Ask a Regent Norway Specialist to pre-book optional activities. (B)

Day 4: Tromso to Spitsbergen

Fly to Svalbard Airport and transfer to Longyearbyen – the world’s most northerly town – and check in to the Radisson Blu Polar Hotel for four nights.

Relax at the end of the day in the hotel’s sauna, enjoy Arctic food in front of a roaring fire or head out to search for the Aurora painting ribbons of colour across the night sky. (B)

Day 5: Husky Safari

Mushing a team of dogs under the Polar Night is a unique and special experience. Embark on an exhilarating husky sledging adventure beneath the glittering moonlight, travelling across icy plains and past towering mountains. Keep an eye out for the incredible northern lights which can be seen day or night at this magical time of year. (B)

Day 6: Polar Night Snowmobile Safari

While the sun is hidden below the horizon, embark on an atmospheric snowmobile journey through the wilderness lit only by the Polar Night. Look out for reindeer and polar foxes who call the snowy landscape home, and watch overhead for the ethereal aurora borealis flickering across the night sky. (B)

Day 7: Northern Lights by Snowcat

Take an exciting trip by snowcat and hunt for the aurora in the Spitsbergen wilderness. Drive through the frozen Advent Valley and enjoy incredible views back towards the glittering lights of Longyearbyen. (B)

Day 8: Fly to the UK

Transfer to the airport for the return flight to the UK via Oslo. Ask a Regent Norway Specialist about adding a city break in Norway’s capital. (B)
