Explore classic Argentina on this tailor made Argentina tour. You’ll get to know the distinctive neighbourhoods of cosmopolitan Buenos Aires and take in a dramatic tango show at the esteemed Esquina Carlos Gardel. You’ll also have the chance to explore the country’s spectacular Lake District.
Maximise your holiday time by flying overnight to Argentina.
Start today with a short flight to Bariloche, the Alps of South America. You’ll have plenty of free time to explore at your own pace. On your first day we take you on a tour of the region, exploring Gutierrez Lake. Then saddle up for a horseback ride through the woodlands surrounding Lake Mascardi before a traditional Patagonian lunch. Afterwards, either trek up to Cerro Agostini’s waterfall or go kayaking.
Fly to Buenos Aires and discover the capital’s elegant atmosphere and Latin American character. On arrival at Ezeiza International Airport you’ll be met by a member of our team before exploring the fashionable Palermo area this afternoon. You’ll also see things that are uniquely Argentine, such as its tango bars and colourful kiosks.
Get to know this cosmopolitan city some more. Our guide will start your tour in Plaza de Mayo, home to the Casa Rosada and the Cathedral Metropolitan. Stroll around the old quarters of San Telmo and La Boca district. Don’t miss a visit to Recoleta Cemetery, where Eva Peron is buried. Then prepare for a fiery tango show and dinner at Gala. The following day is at your leisure.
You swap one spectacular destination for another today, as you travel to Mendoza in the heart of Argentina’s wine world. Over the next few days, you’ll be learning about the vines that produce superior Malbec wine. You’ll also have time to relax in the tranquil surroundings of this leafy wine resort.
Your final stop is Puerto Iguazu, where you’ll enjoy a day on the Argentine side of the Iguazu Falls National Park. Bring waterproofs as you’ll get within a few steps of these spray-filled cascades. Birds and butterflies flit and flutter in the air around you, and there’s plenty to see at the Nature Interpretation Centre. Walk along the Upper Trail with its vast views of the Upper Iguazu River, or the Lower Trail for a view from below the falls.
It’s time to say farewell to Argentina. You’ll be taking a short flight from Puerto Iguazu to Buenos Aires, where you’ll board your flight back to the UK.
