Day 1: Depart the UK

Take an overnight flight to Quito.

Day 2: Quito

Land in the Ecuadorian capital, one of the most beautiful colonial cities in Latin America and settle into your hotel and start exploring.

Day 3: Quito – Make Your Day Individual

Choose from one of the following included experiences:

Quito Colonial Centre – Beautiful Quito is a city of rich history and narrow cobblestone street lined with whitewashed walls and, rising above, the steeples and cupolas of its many spectacularly decorated churches. This walking tour is the best way to discover the charm and beauty of the capital.

Quito Teleferico – Quito lies at around 2,800 metres but if you want to go higher to enjoy stunning views of the city ride the Teleferico up to over 4,000 metres for an unforgettable experience and unique picture moments.

Middle of the World and Pululahua crater – In what capital of the world can you stand in both hemispheres? In Quito’s Ciudad Mitad del Mundo you can! Enjoy this unique experience followed by a walk along the rim of an extinct volcano at Pululahua crater.

Day 4: Quito To Cotopaxi

Markets are an intrinsic part of Ecuadorian culture and this is where locals buy most of their supplies. You will visit a typical market and will stop for a gentle hike at Pita waterfall before reaching your accommodation lodge just outside Cotopaxi National Park.

Day 5: Cotopaxi

Be prepared for amazing landscapes and one of the most beautifully symmetrical volcanoes in the world! Weather permitting you will be able to see the perfect snow-capped summit and if you wish, can undertake the 2 hours hike to Cotopaxi’s J.

Day 6: Fly to the Galapagos

Fly to Baltra Island, the gateway to the Galapagos. You will visit the famous Giant Tortoises farm and will admire these wonderful animals roaming in the wild. Your accommodation is in a privileged position high on the highlands with fantastic views and is a combination of raised safari tents and tree houses.

Day 7: Santa Cruz Island

Embark a comfortable motor yacht and enjoy an excursion to one of the nearby islands. The expert crew will welcome you aboard and a knowledgeable naturalist guide will offer deep insights into the natural history of the islands.

Day 8: Santa Cruz to Isabela Island

Today you will take a speedboat to one of the most famous of all Galapagos Islands. Isabela is one of the youngest and the biggest in the archipelago and offers not only a wealth of different wildlife species but also some of the most dramatic landscapes. You will visit the island’s breeding centre in the morning and later in the day you can snorkel in Tintoreras islands, where you may spot white tipped sharks, sea lions, turtles, rays and penguins.

Day 9: Isabela Island

Be ready for one of the most unforgettable days as you will spend it exploring Isabela’s highlands. Hike up to the crater of the Sierra Negra Volcano followed by a trek along the rim of Volcan Chico. The otherworldly landscapes will appear to be utterly desolate, however, you will encounter plenty of wildlife and enjoy amazing views of Isabela and its neighbouring islands. A deserved relaxing break on the beaches of Puerto Villamil will await at the end of the day.

Day 10: Isabela Island

In the morning you will snorkel through a maze of small islands and arches in the company of fish, sea turtles and the occasional white tipped shark. In the afternoon you will hike the Wetlands Trail where you can see colonies of marine iguanas and several types of mangrove trees.

Day 11: Santa Cruz – Make Your Day Individual

Choose from one of the following included experiences –

Tortuga Bay & Charles Darwin – Walk to the beautiful beach of Tortuga Bay where you can spot marine iguanas, go for a swim, snorkel or just relax on the sandy beach. Visit the Charles Darwin Research Centre where Galapagos’ most important conservation projects are carried out.

Local Cooking Class – The Galapagos Island are not just about the wildlife but also about the local life of their inhabitants. Discover how thousands of people have made this magical place their home through their local cooking traditions.

Garrapatero Beach – Lesser known than Tortuga Bay, this beach is an idyllic place to swim, relax and admire the ever present and unique wildlife of the Galapagos going about its daily activities.

Day 12: Depart the Galapagos

Your tour of Ecuador and the Galapagos has come to an end. In the morning you will catch a flight to mainland Ecuador to connect with your international flight back home.
