Whether you want to visit the famous cities of Los Angeles, San Diego or Santa Monica, walk the streets of Hollywood and chase the emblazoned stars on the pavement, California offers all you need for a perfect holiday.
California is the biggest state in America (by population, and only surpassed in physical size by Alaska and Texas). It’s an enticing blend of sun, surf, cliff-lined beaches, majestic mountains and world-class wineries, all framed by an idyllic climate. If California was an independent nation, it would famously be one of the top ten economies in the world. It even has a camel dairy!
There’s so much to see and do in California, the home of the theme park. From Knott’s Berry Farm, America’s first theme park that first opened its doors back in the 1920s, to Universal Studios, Seaworld, Six Flags Magic Mountain and, of course, Disneyland itself.
There are also amazing cities to explore. Enjoy fresh seafood in Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco, visit the truly awesome USS Midway Museum in San Diego, which has an extensive collection of aircraft in one of the finest maritime museums in the world. Have cameras at the ready for the spectacular panoramas that await on the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, the world’s largest rotating tram car. Sample world class wines in the Napa Valley, and marvel at giant sequoias in Yosemite.
For something a little different, why not visit notorious late-night haunts such as the Whisky a Go-Go or The Viper Room, or spend time (but not too much!) at Alcatraz. California is an endlessly appealing, cosmopolitan holiday destination with an infectious youthful spirit. And yes, you can surf in the morning and go snowboarding in the afternoon!
