Arrive into Boston and make your way to your downtown hotel.
Probably America’s most “easy to see” city Boston offers so much to do. Explore the Freedom Trail, shop at Quincy Market, visit Cambridge and Harvard University, or take a whale watch cruise.
Collect your rental car this morning drive through coastal New Hampshire into Maine. Visit Kennebunk and Kennebunkport, seasonal home to former US President George Bush. Continue along the coast to Portland, known for its restored Old Port Exchange on the waterfront. Plentiful restaurants feature the local specialty – lobster
Journey through the Maine Lakes Region today on your way to the White Mountains. Drive to North Conway, a shoppers’ paradise with countless factory outlet stores off ering top quality at rock bottom prices. Also in North Conway, the Conway Scenic Railroad and Heritage New Hampshire museum. The Mt. Washington Toll Road takes you to the summit of one of the east’s highest mountains. If you’re traveling onto Lincoln, journey along the picturesque Kancamagus Highway, an old Indian trail following the Swift River.
Travel south for a side trip to Lake Winnipesaukee or Lake Squam. Stop at Quechee Gorge, Vermont’s mini Grand Canyon and then Woodstock with its traditional shops and covered bridge. Perhaps visit the Historic Church Street Marketplace, cobble stoned blocks fi lled with shops, boutiques, cafes, restaurants, and historic architecture. See Shelburne Museum’s Americana, gardens and the side wheeler, SS Ticonderoga.
Travel to Rutland and quaint Manchester Village on your way to Massachusetts’ Berkshire Hills. Head for Hancock and the Hancock Shaker Village. Continue to Lenox then Stockbridge, once home to artist Norman Rockwell.
Perhaps explore Old Sturbridge Village, a living museum depicting life in the 19th century, then travel to Cape Cod; or head to Rhode Island and visit Newport. Tour the Ten Mile Drive, with its extravagant summer mansions. Explore Newport’s restored waterfront, which is home to many shops and restaurants. Stay in Cape Cod, with its beaches, historic villages, and seafood.
Boston Logan Airport is around 1½ hours drive from Cape Cod. Enroute perhaps visit Sandwich, the Cape’s oldest town and the Plimoth Plantation, a living museum of 1627 life. Your tour ends as you drop your car at the airport. Please consider today’s drive when booking your onward flight.
