Days 1-2: Fly overnight to Shanghai
Fly overnight to the city of Shanghai. Depending on your time of arrival, the rest of the day is yours to start exploring.

Day 3: Explore Shanghai
Start your exploration of the city with a visit to the Yu Garden, followed by a wander through the old town to a silk factory. Later on, head to the Bund where you can admire some colonial architecture before a ride on the high-speed Maglev train.. End the day with a river cruise on the Huangpu River and dinner.

Day 4: Yellow Mountain
Hop on a bullet train to Tunxi where you’ll ascend to the summit of Mount Huang via cable car. Spend the afternoon exploring before staying overnight atop the mountain.

Day 5: Tunxi Ancient Town
Head back down the mountain to the town of Tunxi. Spend some time exploring the shops that line the narrow streets here.

Day 6: Orange Island
Take the bullet train to Changsha, where you’ll explore the gardens of Orange Island. In the evening, head to a night market to try local delicacies.

Day 7: Bullet Train to Guilin
Visit the Yuelu Academy before taking a scenic journey to Guilin.

Day 8: Discover Guilin
Begin the day with a trip to Elephant Trunk Hill, an iconic rock formation on the Li River. Then, continue to the Sun and Moon Pagodas and the South City Gate before boarding a cruise through the canals.

Day 9: Li River Cruise
Spend the day on a peaceful cruise to Yangshuo, giving you the chance to marvel at the scenery. Disembark and spend some time exploring the town’s markets.

Day 10: Bullet train to Kunming
Board the bullet train to Kunming, enjoying fantastic views of the landscapes along the way

Day 11: Explore Kunming
Visit the Stone Forest, making your way through the towering limestone pillars before return to Kunming. In the evening, sample the local Across the Bridge noodles.

Day 12: Dali’s Ancient Town
This morning, take a bullet train to Dali. On arrival, discover it’s historic quarter and magnificent Three Pagodas. Later on, stroll along Foreigners’ Street.

Day 13: Enchanting Dali
Explore the village of Xizhou today, browsing the local markets and visiting the Yan family home for a tie-dying demonstration. After, take a relaxing cruise on Erhai Lake to admire the Cang Mountains.

Day 14: Lijiang Old Quarter
This morning, board the bullet train to Lijiang. Discover the old quarter, full of traditional wooden buildings and stone bridges.

Day 15: Jade Dragon Snow Mountain
Spend the day at Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. Take a cable car up to explore the high meadows and take in the views. Later, visit Baisha old town to see the Ming Dynasty frescoes and Baisha Village.

Day 16: Travel to Chengdu
Fly to Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan Province.

Day 17: Pandas
Visit Chengdu’s Panda Conservation Base to see and learn about the bears. After, board the bullet train to Xian.

Day 18: Terracotta Warriors
Spend the morning viewing the spectacular Terracotta Army, visiting a workshop where they’re recreated. Back in Xian, stroll along the city walls before enjoying dumpling feast and a Tang Dynasty dance show.

Day 19: Journey to Beijing
Take a bullet train to Beijing.

Day 20: Imperial Beijing
Start the morning with a visit to Tiananmen Square, from where you’ll head to the Forbidden City, entering through the Gate of Supreme Harmony. Later, visit the Temple of Heaven and the China Railway Museum. For dinner, enjoy a traditional dinner of Peking Duck.

Day 21: The Great Wall
This morning is dedicated to China’s most iconic sight – the Great Wall. Walk along a section of the wall before heading to a jade factory. In the afternoon, explore the grounds of the Summer Palace.

Transfer to the airport for your flight back to the UK, arriving home the same or following day.
