Days 1-2: UK – Beijing
Fly overnight to Beijing, China’s capital City. On arrival, the rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 3: Imperial Beijing
Sightseeing today includes a stroll through Tiananmen Square, past Chairman Mao’s Mausoleum to the treasure-filled Forbidden City. Take a stroll through hutongs, see the Temple of Heaven and finish the day with a traditional Peking Duck dinner.

Day 4: The Great Wall
Take a walk along a section of the iconic Great Wall today. Then, you’ll head to a jade factory before spending a tranquil afternoon in the gardens of the Summer Palace.

Day 5: Ancient Xian
Board a bullet train to Xian. Take a walking tour of the Muslim Quarter before having a dumpling feast for dinner, followed by a Tang Dynasty dancing show.

Day 6: Terracotta Warriors
See the famous Terracotta Army this morning, with the chance to visit a workshop where they are recreated. In the afternoon, take the opportunity to stroll along the historical city walls.
In 2026 & 2027, you’ll finish the day’s touring with a visit to a local brewery for a tasting.

Day 7: Board your cruise
Fly to Yichang where you’ll board your cruise.

Days 8-10: Yangtze River Cruise
Over the next three days, cruise upstream, taking in the beautiful views, heading to either the Shennong or Goddess stream for a side trip and enjoying various excursions on shore.

Day 11: Chongqing Panda House
Disembark from our cruise vessel this morning and visit the Panda House at Chongqing Zoo to see these adorable animals. Later, take the bullet train to Guilin.

Day 12: Li River Cruise
Cruise the stunning Li River to the town of Yangshuo.

Day 13: Yangshou
Spend the morning exploring the beautiful countryside before returning to Guilin by road. Visit the Reed Flute Cave before stopping to meet a cormorant fisherman.
In 2026 & 2027, you’ll take the walk around Ronghu and Shanhu lakes in the afternoon of Day 13, instead of the morning of Day 14.

Day 14: Huangpu River Cruise
Take a walk around the  Ronghu and Shanhu Lakes to admire the Sun and Moon Pagodas. Fly to Shanghai. In the evening, take a cruise on the Huangpu River to admire the city.

Day 15: Shanghai
Visit the charming Yu Gardens, the old town and a silk factory. Then, walk along the Bund to see the colonial-style architecture. For dinner, enjoy traditional Shanghainese cuisine.
In 2026 & 2027, you’ll visit Jinmao Tower after the silk factory.

Day 16: Shanghai – UK
Fly to the UK, arriving home later the same day or the following morning
