Days 1 & 2: Fly to Tokyo
Travel to Tokyo. Depending on what time you arrive you can enjoy some free time exploring Tokyo.

Day 3: Explore Tokyo
Spend the day exploring the city. First, head to the top of Tokyo Skytree for views out over the city. Then, stop at Sensoji Temple and browse Nakamise shopping street before driving past Imperial Palace Plaza to reach Hamarikyu Gardens where you have time for a relaxing stroll. This evening, enjoy a cruise on the bay before dinner.

Day 4: Mount Fuji
You will travel Tokyo to Fuji today, where you’ll visit the 5th Station (If the road to the 5th Station is closed, you will instead visit the Fuji Visitor Centre). After, you will visit the spa region of Hakone and take a cruise on Lake Ashi, a perfect opportunity to spot the torii gates on the hillsides and in the lake. Next, take the Komagatake Ropeway to the summit of Mt Komagatake for views of Mt Fuji.

Day 5: Bullet Train to Kyoto
From Mishima Station, you’ll take a bullet train to Kyoto, the former capital. In the afternoon, visit the Fushimi Inari Shrine. Follow the path through the thousands of torii gates to the shrine complex.

Day 6: Explore Kyoto
Begin the day with a visit to the Ryoanji Temple and its famous Zen Garden. Then, continue to Kinkakuji Temple, known as the Golden Pavilion. After lunch, try your hand at calligraphy before a tea ceremony demonstration.(Breakfast, lunch and dinner)
Day 7: Explore Nara & Osaka
You will travel to Nara and spend the morning exploring Todaji Temple which is home to the Daibustu, a 15-metre tall statue of Buddha. Head to Isuien for a stroll before continuing to Osaka. Here you’ll explore the Dotonburi district before learning about the history of Osaka’s magnificent castle.

Day 8: Fly Osaka to UK
Fly from Osaka to the UK, arriving the same or next day.

Cruise on Tokyo Bay
Embark on a relaxed dinner cruise on the waters of Tokyo Bay, enabling you to look back and admire the bright, twinkling lights of the city by night
Traditional Tea Ceremony
Experience the perfect display of Japanese culture as you witness the preparation and performance involved in the ‘Way of Tea’, a traditional tea ceremony.
Ancient Calligraphy Class
With traditional brushes, ink and paper, try your hand at the beautiful art of calligraphy, an important aspect of Japanese culture since its introduction from China in the 6th century.
