Arrive for your flight or Eurostar journey. On arrival, transfer by coach to our ship moored in Lyon’s historic centre.
After breakfast, enjoy a guided tour around Lyon. See some of the Roman remains here, as well as the Renaissance-era buildings and its renowned speciality eateries. While having lunch on board, the ship begins sailing upstream. On the journey, you’ll see picturesque villages and might even catch a glimpse of Mont Blanc.
Awake in Chalon, where the morning tour allows you to see some of the pretty villages that produce some of the world’s best wines. Nearby is Beaune, Burgundy’s wine capital. Visit a traditional winemakers for a tour and a tasting before returning to the ship for lunch.
Enjoy breakfast before a guided tour of Vienne, which is a treasure trove of historic remains, including a Roman temple. Take a little train to the top of the city for expansive views. Wander back to the ship for another superb lunch as the ship sails to the town of Tournon.
This morning, the ship sails south towards Valence. After lunch, explore the sheer limestone cliffs and blue waters of the Ardèche Gorges. Return to the ship moored in Viviers from where the ship sets sail for the evening
Discover the Roman remains of Arles, including its amphitheatre and ancient necropolis. After lunch, visit the Pont du Gard Roman aqueduct before returning to the ship for the captain’s dinner.
Embark on a tour of Avignon today, visiting the monuments of this immaculately preserved city. A highlight of the tour is the Pope’s Palace, the largest Gothic palace in the world. There’s free time in the afternoon to continue explore, giving the chance to see Petit Palais or walking along the Pont d’Avignon.
After breakfast, transfer to the airport or train station for your return journey home.
