Day 1: London to Strasbourg

You meet your group at Rail Discoveries’ dedicated Departure Office today, leaving London St Pancras International on the Eurostar for Paris. From here, you travel on the high-speed TGV service to Strasbourg, where you overnight.

Day 2: Lake Maggiore

Return to the railway station this morning and continue your journey to Italy. Arriving at Stresa railway station, you transfer to your home for the next five nights, the 4* Milan Speranza Hotel au Lac.

Day 3: Isola Bella

This morning, enjoy an excursion by boat, cruising to picturesque Isola Bella, the small island only a few minutes across the lake from Stresa.

Day 4: At leisure in Stresa

Today you are at leisure to relax in Stresa, possibly taking the time to explore the town. Although a highly popular Italian resort, Stresa is small enough to explore on foot, rewarding visitors with medieval buildings, opulent and historic villas, public gardens and several museums.

Day 5: Centovalli Railway

Today, enjoy a journey on the breathtaking Centovalli Railway. With a name meaning “One Hundred Valleys”, the Centovalli Railway connects Locarno in Switzerland to Domodossola in Italy.

Day 6: Lake Orta

Your excursion today takes you by coach to tranquil Lake Orta, a superbly unspoiled lake with an enchanting atmosphere. Situated on the lake is the charming village of Orta San Giulio, where you have some free time.

Day 7: Dijon

You begin your journey home today. Travelling via Basel you arrive in Dijon, where you will spend the final night of the holiday.

Day 8: Return to London

Leave Dijon today, travelling by TGV to Paris. Here you join the Eurostar to St Pancras International in London, where your tour concludes.

Located in a superb position overlooking the lake and in the heart of Stresa, the 4-Star Milan Speranza Hotel au Lac has two dining rooms, a lounge/bar and a delightful lakeside veranda.
