Day 1 – Arrival in Stresa
Take a flight to Italy and on arrival, transfer to the town of Stresa on the shores of Lake Maggiore
Day 2 – Lake Maggiore & Borromean Islands
Today, take a boat over to the stunning Borromean Islands, where you’ll have a tour of Isola Bella, a 17th Century villa before exploring Isola dei Pescatori, a perfect place for lunch before you sail back to Stresa in the afternoon
Day 3 – Centovalli Railway
Take a private boat to Cannobio, where you’ll have some free time before joining the coach to continue to the chic resort of Locarno, Switzerland. After some free time in the historic centre, board the narrow gauge Centovalli train for a scenic ride along the mountainside. From Domodossola, return by coach to Stresa.
Day 4 – Lake Como
This morning, explore another of Northern Italy’s most famous lakes, Como. Explore the lake’s surroundings as you wish. The town itself is known for its lakeside parks and grand hotels.
Day 5 – Free Day
Today, you can choose to relax in the pool or explore Stresa. There is a complimentary guided walk available on this day. After a short train journey, begin in the hamlet of Verbania Pallanza and walk to the gorgeous Lake Mergozzo, passing through an unspoilt oak forest. After a small amount of time for a coffee in the local village, return to Stresa by train.

Day 6 – Zermatt & the Matterhorn
Head into the alps today, crossing the border into Switzerland before taking the Simplon Pass. Arrive in the village of Zermatt, nestled at the foot of the Matterhorn. For a fantastic view or the mountain, take the cog railway to reach 3000 metres.
Day 7 – Lake Orta
Head to the lesser-known Lake Orta today, visiting the delightful village of Orta San Giulio.
Day 8 – Return flight
At the appropriate time, transfer back to the airport for your flight home

Wander the botanical gardens, home to an exotic mix of plants, birds and flowers, and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and cake while taking in spectacular views of Lake Maggiore
