In spring, Keukenhof Park dazzles with 7 million blooms spread across 80 acres of lakes, gardens, and vibrant displays. You’ll also explore the IJsselmeer, a lagoon formed in the 1930s, and visit charming fishing villages once central to the Dutch Golden Age of trade. At Kinderdijk, iconic windmills highlight the country’s battle with the sea. Add in vibrant Amsterdam and dynamic Rotterdam, and this cruise offers a perfect blend of horticulture, history, and harbour towns.
This river cruise also has dedicated departures available for solo travellers. Please enquire or call for more information
Day 1: Arrival in Amsterdam
Fly to Amsterdam from a choice of regional airports or take the Eurostar from London St Pancras International to Brussels, where you change trains and continue to Amsterdam. On arrival, transfer by coach to your five-star cruise ship moored near the city centre and railway station.
Day 2: Enkhuizen
Overnight the ship glides north, and at dawn you arrive in Enkhuizen, a picturesque port on the former Zuiderzee. This morning’s guided tour takes you to the Zuiderzee Museum, where 19th-century Dutch life is vividly recreated through exhibits, artisan demonstrations, and an open-air village. After lunch, we cruise the Markermeer, part of the IJsselmeer, a vast freshwater lake created in the early 20th century. This evening, enjoy an à la carte dinner on board, followed by a digestif in the bar as the pianist plays.
Day 3: Rotterdam & Kinderdijk
Wake up in Rotterdam, the Netherlands’ second largest city, where the Rhine meets the North Sea. This morning’s guided walk takes in highlights such as the tilted Cube Houses, the mural-covered Markthal, and the world-class Maritime Museum. Afterwards, enjoy some free time before rejoining the ship for lunch, watching the skyline fade through panoramic windows.
In the afternoon, visit Kinderdijk, a UNESCO World Heritage site where 19 historic windmills line the canals. Back on board, the day ends with a chef-prepared dinner, crafted to be as memorable as the scenery.
Day 4: Keukenhof & Amsterdam
This morning, visit Keukenhof, the world’s largest flower garden, where seven million blooms create dazzling displays across 80 acres of themed landscapes, lakes, and pavilions. Stay for lunch at leisure or return to the ship.
Back in Amsterdam, the afternoon is yours to explore. Glide along the 17th-century canal network, stroll narrow streets lined with gabled houses, or browse markets and cafés. Art lovers can lose themselves in the Rijksmuseum or Van Gogh Museum, while history enthusiasts may visit Anne Frank’s House.
The day ends with dinner on board and a guitar performance, as Amsterdam sparkles into the night.
Day 5: Return home
This morning, transfer to the railway station or airport for your return journey.
