Enjoy lazy days relaxing, and nights gazing skyward, as Magellan cruises north to the island outposts of the Faroes and Iceland. Wander Torshavn’s twisting network of lanes and narrow passages, and spend two days exploring the Icelandic capital, Reykjavik, where the brightly painted buildings contrast sharply with the natural beauty of its surroundings. Perhaps take the lift to the top of the Hallgrimskirkja Church for a panoramic view, or visit the fascinating Arbaer Folk Museum and the Saga Museum.
As Magellan follows the Irish coast to and from her home port, Bristol, you’ll also have opportunities to visit Cork, southern Ireland’s historic centre of commerce, culture and fine food, and discover Belfast’s long and complex history, and the world-famous exhibitions of the Titanic Quarter.
Welcome aboard sleek, contemporary Magellan. With a total passenger capacity of less than 1500, yet with all the amenities of a larger cruising ship, well-appointed Magellan offers an intimate and traditional small-ship cruising experience, exclusively for adults.
Given Magellan’s extensive range of on-board facilities, as well as her friendly, attentive CMV crew, life on board promises to be comfortable and relaxed. All voyages begin in the UK, and the range of departure ports around England and Scotland that you can choose from means that joining your cruise couldn’t be easier.
Board Magellan in Bristol, today, and settle in to your cabin as the ship prepares to set sail.
Early this morning, Magellan arrives in Cork’s long, narrow harbour of Cobh. Shore excursions here offer you the chance to discover this historic capital of southwest Ireland, to head into the beautiful rolling countryside to fashionable Kinsale or to visit famous Blarney Castle, just north of the city, for a chance to kiss the Blarney Stone.

Tiny, Toytown-like Tórshavn is the capital of the Faroe Islands. Explore its confusion of lanes, narrow passages and black-tarred houses with green turf on the roofs, or join an excursion, perhaps to cross the famous Bridge across the Atlantic connecting the main island of Streymoy with the spectacular scenery and ancient wooden churches of smaller Eysturoy.
Spend today relaxing on board.
After a day sailing along the Icelandic coast, Magellan docks in the world’s northernmost capital, the fascinating city of Reykjavík, this evening. Step ashore to spend the next few days exploring, perhaps taking the lift to the top of the Hallgrímskirkja Church for a panoramic view, or visiting the fascinating Arbaer Folk Museum and the Saga Museum. Witness geothermal activity at the famous Blue Lagoon Pool and at the original Geysir – after which all others are named.
Spend two more days at sea relaxing on board.
This morning, Magellan arrives in historic Belfast. Explore the city centre, visit the Titanic Quarter to see the exhibitions that pay homage to the ill-fated vessel, or join an optional excursion to the vast stone staircase of the Giant’s Causeway on the Antrim Coast beyond.
Make the most of a final day relaxing on board as Magellan cruises back to Bristol.
Days marked above with an anchor include ports where you will be transferred to shore by landing boat. These ports may be inaccessible for customers with mobility difficulties as a result. Any days not listed will be spent at sea.
