Day 1: Arrival in San Jose
Arrive at the airport for your flight to San Jose.

Day 2: Tortuguero
After an early start, depart for Tortuguero on Costa Rica’s Caribbean coast, passing coffee and banana plantations and small farming communities. Then, transfer to a boat, navigating natural canals to reach the eco-lodge you’ll be staying. Later, visit the town of Tortuguero and the Caribbean Conservations Corporation Museum, dedicated to studying turtles. Tonight, enjoy a round of welcome drinks before an included dinner at the hotel.

Day 3: Tortuguero
This morning, take a walk around one of the nature trails near the lodge. In the afternoon, take to the water on a boat tour of the canals, during which you might see caimans, monkeys and birds.

Day 4: Sarapiqui
This morning, head westward through the heart of the country toward Arenal, renowned for Costa Rica’s youngest volcano, the perfectly symmetrical cone of Arenal Volcano. Along the way, stop at a Pijibaye plantation to learn about the peach fruit palm tree and enjoy a local lunch.

Day 5: Arenal Volcano National Park
Admire the National Park on a visit that takes you to the Hanging Bridges where you can get a unique view of the forest. Later in the day, head to your next hotel, stopping on the way in La Fortuna to tour a coffee and chocolate farm.

Day 6: Caño Negro Reserve
Head north today to reach the Caño Negro Reserve where you’ll take a boat tour along the Frio river. A local guided helps you to spot native birds and wildlife along the way.

Day 7: Rincon De La Vieja National Park
This morning, meet the team at Las Pumas Wildlife Rescue Centre, where you can meet some of the wild cats. Then travel north to the town of Liberia before continuing into Rincon De La Vieja National Park. In the evening, you have the option to take a night walk in search of nocturnal activity.

Day 8: Free day in Rincon De La Vieja National Park
Early this morning, head out to witness the dawn chorus, keeping an eye out for numerous species of birds. The rest of the day is at leisure to spend as you wish, either joining an activity or relaxing in the thermal hot springs.

Day 9: Palo Verde National Park
Take a guided tour of Palo Verde National Park, exploring the coastal forests by boat. Keep an eye-out for the sloths, monkeys and macaws. Later, enjoy a country-style lunch before driving towards the Pacific Coast.

Day 10: Free day in Guanacaste
Enjoy your final day in your hotel, with access to a private beach, outdoor pool and fitness centre. There’s also a number of activities you can join, like bicycle tours or walks.

Day 11: Free day in Guanacaste
Enjoy another free day in the hotel or join an optional coastal catamaran boat tour. Tonight, gather for a farewell dinner at a local restaurant in Tamarindo Beach

Day 12: San Jose and return home
Travel back to San Jose airport for your overnight flight home

Aninga Eco-Lodge, Tortuguero
This lodge is located on one of the canals near Tortuguero National Park. There is a restaurant where you can enjoy buffet style meals. The spacious bungalows have either twin or double beds.

Hotel Arenal Manoa, Arenal
This charming four-star hotel offers stunning views of the Arenal volcano amidst lush gardens and greenery, situated on the original Manoa dairy farm. The spacious, air-conditioned rooms are in single-story cottages across the extensive grounds, equipped with a shower, hairdryer, fridge, safe, TV, tea/coffee facilities, complimentary Wi-Fi, and a private terrace. Shuttles are available for rooms further away from the main facilities.

Lomas Del Volcan, Fortuna 
On the outskirts of Arenal National Park, this hotel offers a restaurant and lounge where you can enjoy meals. The bungalows here have two verandas each, as well as a king or queen sized bed, a safe, tv and coffee-making facilities.

Located in the foothills of the Rincorn de la Vieja National Park, this hotel offers an outdoor pool, natural hotel springs, a bar and 2 restaurants. The rooms are modern, and have either a private deck or balcony.
