Day 1: Fly to Cairo

Day 2: Pyramids of Giza
Today’s touring starts with the Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx, followed by the Egyptian Museum. In the afternoon you will visit the famous Khan El Khalili bazaar, known for its jewellery and traditional coffee houses.

Day 3: Old Cairo & Sakkara
This morning, explore the Coptic Quarter, one of Cairo’s oldest. See its impressive church and visit the Coptic Museum to see its collection of artefacts. Later, continue to Sakkara, an ancient necropolis famed for its painted catacombs.

Day 4: Explore Alexandra
Depart after breakfast for Alexandria via the desert road. On arrival you will be taken on a city tour that includes the Roman theatre, the Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa and you will visit the Qaitbay Citadel, a defensive fortress located on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea.

Day 5: El Alamein
This morning, visit El Alamein, the site of two key battles in WWII. Explore the military museum and war cemeteries before travelling southeast back to Cairo. Stop en route to visit the still-active Monastery of St Macarius, inhabited by Coptic Orthodox monks since the 4th century AD.

Day 6: Luxor’s East Bank
Tale a short flight to Luxor where you’ll board your cruise ship for a 4 night cruise. Enjoy some time to settle before heading out to visit the Complex of Karnak. Here you’ll see the Hypostyle Hall and the Avenue of Sphinxes

Day 7: Explore West Bank
This morning, see the Colossi of Memnon on your way to visit the mortuary temple of Queen Hatshepsut. Later on, visit the Valley of Kings where you’ll see the tomb of Tutankhamun. Tonight, sail towards Esna.

Day 8: Edfu & Kom Ombo
Enjoy a visit to the Temple of Horus in Edfu this morning, before heading back to the ship for lunch. Head ashore in Kom Ombo to see the unique double temple, dedicated to Horus and Sobek. Sail on to Aswan.

Day 9: Abu Simbel
Wake up early to make the journey to the temples of Abu Simbel, dedicated to Ramesses II. Admire its many halls and the imposing statues before returning to Aswan.

Day 10: Discover Aswan
Take a full day tour of Aswan today. Visit the impressive Aswan High Dam, the Unfinished Obelisk and the Temple of Philae, located on an island in the Nile. After lunch, enjoy a relaxing sail on a traditional felucca before returning for dinner. Then, take a flight back to Cairo.

Day 11: Fly Cairo to UK
After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for your flight home.
