Day 1: Fly to Cairo
Fly to Cairo and transfer to your hotel for your overnight stay.

Day 2: Pyramids of Giza
Spend today exploring the Pyramids of Giza and The Sphinx, followed by the Egyptian Museum, before testing your bargaining skills at Khan El Khalili bazaar.

Day 3: Old Cairo
Spend the morning exploring Cairo’s oldest district, the Coptic Quarter, with its impressive churches and the Christian artefact collection at the Coptic Museum. Later, continue to Sakkara, an ancient necropolis famed for its painted catacombs and the Step Pyramid of Djoser.

Day 4: Explore Alexandria
Travel north to Alexandria, visiting the Roman Amphitheater, the Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa, and the defensive fortress of Qaitbay Citadel on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea.

Day 5: El Alamein and Monastery of St Macarius
This morning, visit El Alamein, the site of two key battles in WWII. Explore the military museum and war cemeteries before travelling southeast back to Cairo. Stop en route to visit the still-active Monastery of St Macarius, inhabited by Coptic Orthodox monks since the 4th century AD.

Day 6: Luxor & Karnak
After arriving in Luxor, transfer to the port to begin your four night Nile River Cruise. Once settled, your shore excursion takes you to Luxor’s East Bank, visiting the Temple of Karnak, an impressive complex of buildings including the Hypostyle Hall.

Day 7: Explore the West Bank
Explore the stunning landscape of the West Bank where you will the Colossi of Memnon statues, the Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari, and the famous Valley of Kings, home to the tombs of ancient Egyptian rulers. Later sail to Esna.

Day 8: Kom Ombo
Sailing further down The Nile River, you will reach the city of Edfu for a visit to the Temple of Edfu, before sailing to Kom Ombo to explore the Temple of Kom Ombo. Set sail again for Aswan.

Day 9: Abu Simbel
Disembark the ship and journey southwest to the iconic twin temples of Abu Simbel, at Egypt’s furthest edge. This atmospheric temple complex, perhaps the greatest in Egypt, is dedicated to Ramesses II, often considered the greatest pharaoh of the New Kingdom. Admire its many halls and imposing statues before returning to your cruise ship in Aswan.

Day 10: Discover Aswan
This morning you will tour the town of Aswan. You’ll visit the 111-metre tall High Dam, the Unfinished Obelisk and the majestic Temple of Philae. This afternoon, enjoy a felucca tour around the area. Transfer to the airport in the evening for your flight to Cairo.

Day 11: Fly to Jordan
This morning, you will continue your tour with a flight to Jordan. On arrival transfer to your hotel to settle in and spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 12: Jerash Chariot Race
Head to the ancient Roman city Jerash where you will witness the Roman pastime of chariot racing. Continue to Ajloun to visit the castle here.

Take a city tour of Amman to explore the Citadel and Roman Amphitheatre before exploring the desert castles

Day 14: Mount Nebo
Today you will visit Mount Nebo, and the town of Madaba to visit the Orthodox Church of St. George before continuing to the world-renowned city of Petra. In the evening, experience an authentic Levantine cooking class.

Day 15: Petra by night & day
A morning to explore the amazing UNESCO World Heritage site of Petra, with its many caves and tombs. Spend the afternoon relaxing before returning this evening to experience it at night, by candlelight.

Day 16: Wadi Rum Desert Camp
Stop at Little Petra, a smaller canyon, before the journey to Wadi Rum. Here you will explore Lawrence’s road, driving over the sand dunes and through canyons. You will spend the evening surrounded by desert and starlight in a Bedouin camp.

Day 17: Dead Sea
Head north to the Dead Sea where you have the day to explore on your own. Experience one of the world’s saltiest bodies of water by floating in the Dead Sea, or do some exploring of this lovely coastal area.

This morning you will depart Amman and fly back to the UK.
