Day 1: Arrival in Aix-en-Provence
Travel to France by plane or train. On arrival, transfer to your hotel in Aix-en-Provence
Day 2: Tour of Aix-en-Provence
Take a guided walk tour of the city and see the beautiful scenery that inspired Cezanne who created many of his paintings here. This afternoon is at leisure.
Day 3: The Camargue
After breakfast, head to the Camargue, the delta of the river Rhone. Arrive in the town of Saintes Maries de la Mer where you’ll board a boat to explore the wetlands. Then, make the short trip to Arles to see its Roman ruins before some free time.
Day 4: The Luberon Mountains
Travel north into the beautiful Luberon mountains and spend the day exploring the hilltop villages and lavender fields.
Day 5: Avignon
Today, visit the nearby city of Avignon, famed as the home of the Popes during their exile from Rome. See the elegant townhouses and the Papal Palace. You may have the chance to visit the Petit Palais Museum. Outside the city, head to the Roman Pont du Gard aqueduct.
Day 6: Free day
Spend a full day at leisure in Aix-en-Provence. Wander down the Cours Mirabeau or visit the Musee Granet to see its amazing collection of art.
Day 7: Cassis
Head to the coast to visit the fishing port of Cassis today. Admire its colourful cottages before taking an afternoon boat trip to see the rugged white cliffs of the Calanques.
Day 8: Return home
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight home.
