Day 1: Arrival in Lake Garda
You’ll meet a member of the Riviera Team at your departure airport before checking in for your flight. On arrival in Italy, travel by coach to the hotel in the resort town of Bardolino.
This evening, get together with the rest of the group and your tour manager for a welcome drinks reception before dinner
Day 2: Lake Garda
Today, take a tour of the lake, passing through picturesque villages. Begin with a drive to the town of Limone, before continuing to bustling Riva del Garda on the northern end of the lake. Here you’ll stop for some lunch and some free time to wander through its charming medieval centre. Then return to Bardolino by coach.
Day 3: Venice
After an early breakfast, drive to Venice. Take a walking tour during which you’ll see numerous attractions, including St Mark’s Square, the Campanile and the Doge’s Palace. Following the tour, why not head to the Accademia to see its brilliant collection of Renaissance art or take a gondola trip along the canals.
Day 4: Free day
Today is a free day to explore at your leisure.
Day 5: Mantova
Head to the medieval city of Mantova for guided tour, seeing many artistic, cultural and architectural treasures, including the immense Palazzo Ducale, once Europe’s largest palace. After, enjoy some free time.
Day 6: Free day
Another free day for you to explore the surrounding area, perhaps hopping on a ferry to one of the lakeside towns or simply relaxing in the hotel.
Day 7: Verona
Visit the city of Verona, where your guided tour will take you past medieval buildings, through narrow streets and charming marketplaces. You might even get to see the balcony famously associated with Romeo and Juliet which is set in the city. The roman area and theatre are worth seeing while you’re here, as well as the renaissance style gardens. The afternoon is at leisure to explore further.
Day 8: Return home
Transfer to the airport for your flight home
Hotel Caesius Thermae & Spa, Bardolino
The Caesius Hotel is superbly located, set back from the lakeside road and surrounded in beautifully landscaped grounds. You can take the very pleasant lakeside walk for approximately one mile to Bardolino, a pretty town nestling on the lake’s eastern shores.
Hotel Europa, Riva del Garda****
Located on the lakefront, this hotel has a terrace overlooking the harbour as well as a small rooftop pool. Room are equipped with a tv, phone and safe.
Please note the use of air conditioning and outdoor pool opening is at the discretion of the hotels. The pools usually operate from mid-May to early October, depending on weather conditions.
