– Dinghy sailing & windsurfing (inclusive tuition): As the afternoon wind builds, dinghy sailors and windsurfers head to the beach to make the most of the wide sailing area. Group RYA tuition is available, and instructors are on hand to help you get out on the water. A full range of equipment is provided, including catamarans and dinghies for all levels, as well as windsurf boards and rigs from leading brands such as Starboard, Fanatic and RRD.

– Kayaking & paddle boarding: Late morning is ideal for exploring the bay by kayak or paddleboard at your own pace. Equipment includes single and double sit-on-top kayaks, wave kayaks, Red Paddle Co paddle boards and a fun XXL paddle board that fits up to eight people.

– Water skiing & Wakeboarding (up to 2 free tows per week): Early mornings bring calm, flat water in the bay – perfect for water skiing or wakeboarding. Each guest enjoys up to two free tows per week (three on 10–11 night holidays), with the option to pre-book beginner or intermediate upgrade packs* for more time on the water. Sessions run behind Ski Nautique boats with a range of skis, boards, mono skis and wakeskates available

– Tennis & pickleball (inclusive coaching): Back at the club, enjoy excellent racket sports facilities with seven newly resurfaced tennis courts shared with Messini Beachclub, offering daily group coaching and plenty of free play. Guests can also upgrade to a premium tennis package with intensive small-group coaching and private sessions, or try pickleball on one of the six courts. Wilson rackets are provided for both adults and children.

– Mountain biking & road cycling (inclusive guided rides): Buca Beachclub offers an extensive cycling programme with both road and mountain biking through scenic olive and lemon groves, technical climbs and winding coastal roads. Guests can join guided rides with the Messini Beachclub team or explore independently using suggested Strava routes, with high-quality Trek road, mountain and electric bikes available, plus premium carbon road bikes for those wanting an upgraded experience.

– Fitness classes & swimming: Unwind with small-group yoga classes in the peaceful grounds of Buca Beachclub, focusing on flexibility, strength and balance through styles such as Hatha, Vinyasa and Ashtanga. For a higher-energy workout, Messini Beachclub offers a full programme of fitness classes, a functional training studio and Les Mills BODYPUMP™, while the glass-sided pool and open-water swim sessions provide plenty of ways to stay active and cool off (Free access to Messini fitness facilities as a Neilson Buca Beachclub guest).

– Climbing wall (inclusive tuition): Try the climbing wall at nearby Messini Beachclub, where Neilson’s partners at Climb Up run free sessions three evenings a week, perfect for beginners and young climbers. For an even bigger adventure, you can also join a rock climbing trip to the stunning cliffs of Kardamili, around an hour away, for a small additional cost.

The minimum age for guests at Buca Beachclub is 15 years. Childcare for those aged 15 to 17 years is included, however, the activities are run at the nearby Messini Beachclub.

Wave Riders
14-15 years
At Wave Riders, there are lots of group activities on offer, including volleyball, tennis, and kayaking. They’ll also have the option to join the adult sessions for other water sports.
There are also teen social nights throughout the week, which can include movies, games, and BBQ nights.
6 days a week; four days a week from 10am-12:30pm then 2:30pm-5:30pm; two days a week from 2:30pm to 10pm.

TAG
16-17 years
TAG is designed to get teenagers enjoying days of activities and making new friends, with activities sessions, as well as evening meals, quizzes, and excursions.

Neilson Buca has 57 rooms, including twin/double rooms, single rooms, and suites. Most of these rooms face the pool and offer a balcony or a terrace. The rest of the rooms look out towards the mountains.

For breakfast and lunch, you can take your time and enjoy the wide buffet selection, or simply grab something quick if you’re heading off to an activity. If you’d rather start the day more slowly, a continental breakfast with pastries, preserves, fruit, yoghurt, juice and coffee can also be delivered straight to your room.

Later in the day, the pool bar is the ideal place to relax with a pre-dinner cocktail. When you’re ready to eat, head to the restaurant where our chefs prepare a delicious buffet of traditional Greek dishes.

The number of included evening meals depends on the length of your stay:

• 7-night stays: 4 evening meals included
• 10 or 11-night stays: 6 evening meals included

Inclusive meal nights take place on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday.

To accompany your meals, there’s also a premium wine list available, and we host a complimentary wine tasting once a week.

On Thursday evenings, the pool bar hosts a non-inclusive seafood BBQ, while on Tuesdays and Sundays you can enjoy daily specials on the restaurant terrace from our non-inclusive Fresco menu.

Alternatively, you might choose to explore a few of the local tavernas along the beach, or let us arrange a table for you at one of the excellent restaurants in Kalamata. Any non-inclusive meals will simply be added to your room tab.

Step outside Buca Beach Club and you’ll quickly notice the peaceful charm of rural Greece. The surrounding area is quiet and traditional, with plenty to explore – from lush green valleys and long sandy beaches to hidden coves, sheltered bays and small villages nestled into the slopes of the Taygetus Mountains.

In contrast, the nearby city of Kalamata offers a lively, cosmopolitan atmosphere. Framed by the dramatic Taygetus Mountains, its waterfront is lined with bustling tavernas, restaurants and bars. Culture lovers can enjoy performances at the open-air theatre in the historic Castle of Isabeau, wander the charming old town around the Kastro, or browse the vibrant market held every Wednesday and Saturday, showcasing fresh local produce. You can also join a guided walking tour led by a knowledgeable local guide to discover more about the city’s history and character (payable locally).

Dyros Caves
Discovered in 1958, the Dyros Caves revealed ceramics, tools, silver and bones dating back to the Neolithic age. A visit is particularly memorable thanks to the underground lake, where part of the journey is taken by small boat through the caverns before continuing on foot.

Ancient Messinia
Around 20 minutes away lies the hidden archaeological site of Ancient Messini. Set in the foothills of Mount Ithomi and surrounded by Mount Eva and Mount Psoriari, this once-fortified city protected the ancient Messenians for centuries. Remains of the original defensive walls still stretch along the mountain ridge, complete with several lookout towers. Visitors can follow the ruins through olive groves and orchards or visit the archaeological museum to learn more about the region’s ancient past.

Costa Navarino Golf Course
For golf enthusiasts, the world-class Costa Navarino course sits on a gently sloping hillside overlooking the sea. The resort features two courses, including the Dunes Course designed by former Ryder Cup captain and US Masters champion Bernhard Langer – the first 18-hole signature-designed golf course in Greece. Neilson’s reception team can provide details, book tee times and arrange transport to the course.
