Days 1-2: Fly to Shanghai
Fly overnight to the city of Shanghai. Depending on your time of arrival the rest of the day is yours to relax or begin exploring

Day 3: Explore Shanghai
Visit the peaceful Yu Gardens and atmospheric old town before admiring the colonial architecture with a stroll along the Bund. Round off the day with a delicious meal of traditional Shanghai cuisine.

Day 4: Even more Shanghai
Wander through Tianzifang, stopping at a silk mill before exploring the district of Pudong. Head up Mao Tower to take in the panoramic views of the skyline. In the evening, enjoy a cruise on the Huangpu River.

Day 5: Historic Suzhou
Head out of the city to Suzhou, where you’ll visit the Humble Administrator’s Garden before cruising on the 1,000 year old Grand Canal

Day 6: Wuzhen Watertown
Transfer to the water town of Wuzhen. Spend some time exploring before enjoying a Chinese wine tasting experience. Later, trave to Hangzhou

Day 7: Historic Hangzhou
This morning, explore the Temple of Inspired Seclusion, one of China’s most renowned Buddhist Temples. Cruise on the West Lake and enjoy views of the gardens and pagodas. Later on, look around the local markets before visiting the tea plantations of Meijiawu.

Day 8: Reed Flute Cave
Fly to the city of Guilin, where you’ll head to the Reed Flute Cave to see it’s colourful stalagmites and stalactites.

Day 9: Li River Cruise
Take a relaxed cruise along the Li River to the charming village of Yangshuo. Upon arrival, spend some time wandering through streets and markets.

Day 10: Yangshou
Start the morning with a Tai Chi class before spending the morning exploring the countryside before an afternoon at leisure.

Day 11: Chengdu
Board the bullet train to Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan Province. Once there, enjoy an optional performance of Sichuan opera.

Day 12: Grand Buddha of Leshan
Travel to Leshan to visit the Grand Buddha which, at 71 metres, is the world’s largest stone-carved Buddhist monument. A short boat trip will give excellent views from the river. Returning to Chengdu, sample a delicious Sichuan meal this evening.

Day 13: Chengdu Panda Reserve
Visit Chengdu’s famous reserve to see and learn about China’s celebrated bears up close in surroundings that mirror their natural habitat. Take the bullet train to Xian, the ancient former capital.

Days 14: Terracotta Warriors
Visit the Terracotta Army of Emperor Qin Shi Huang. Later stroll on the beautifully preserved 14th century city walls that enclose Xian’s old town before heading to a local brewery for a beer tasting. Sit down in the evening for a delicious feast of Shui Jiao dumplings followed by a performance of Tang Dynasty dancing.

Day 15: Calligraphy Lesson
Try your hand at traditional Chinese calligraphy before boarding a bullet train to Beijing.

Days 16: Imperial Beijing
Relax and soak up the harmonious ambience of the Temple of Heaven, an orderly oasis in a bustling urban landscape. Then head to Tiananmen Square and venture into the magnificence of the Forbidden City. A Chinese acrobatic show rounds off the day.

Day 17: Great Wall of China
This morning is dedicated to China’s most iconic sight – the Great Wall. Take a walk on this incredible structure before visiting the Jade Museum. In the afternoon, enjoy a walk around the gardens of the Summer Palace. This evening, enjoy a dinner of Peking duck.

Day 18: Fly Beijing to UK
Fly to the UK, arriving home the same or following day.

Cruise on the Grand Canal
Travel along the Grand Canal through the town of Suzhou

Visit a Tea Plantation
Head to a tea plantation to learn about how the plants are cultivated and processed to produce tea.

Take a Tai Chi Class
Attend a morning class with a profession Tai Chi instructor
