Days 1-2: UK – Beijing
Fly overnight to Beijing, China’s capital City. Upon arrival, the rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 3: Beijing
Sightseeing today includes a stroll through Tiananmen Square, past Chairman Mao’s Mausoleum to the treasure-filled Forbidden City, which has the largest and best-preserved collection of ancient buildings in China. Spend afternoon at the Temple of Heaven. Your evening meal includes the local delicacy, Peking Duck.

Day 4: The Great Wall
Spend the morning exploring China’s most iconic sight, the Great Wall. After walking along a section of the wall, visit a jade factory and the Summer Palace, where you can wander through the traditional gardens.

Day 5: Hutongs
Take a stroll through the hutongs to learn about life in this traditional area. Later, take a bullet train to Xian.

Day 6: Terracotta Warriors
Visit the Terracotta Army and see how they are replicated followed by a visit to a local brewery for a tasting. In the evening, enjoy traditional Shui Jiao dumplings and watch a Tang Dynasty dance show

Day 7: Calligraphy Lesson
Stroll along the 14th century city walls before trying your hand at calligraphy. In the afternoon, explore the Muslim Quarter to gain an insight in the city’s historic role as the start of the Silk Road.

Day 8: Bullet train to Chengdu
Head to Chengdu on the bullet train where there is the option to see the Sichuan Opera in the evening.

Day 9: Chengdu Panda Reserve
Visit the famous Panda Conservation Centre to learn about the centre’s breeding programme. Stroll through People’s Park with a stop at Matchmaker’s Corner. Next, visit a traditional teahouse for a cup of tea. Finally, wander through the Wide and Narrow Alleys. Tonight, dine on Sichuanese cuisine.

Day 10: Board the Yangtze cruise
Take a bullet train to Yichang where you’ll board your cruise ship

Days 11-13 : Yangtze River Cruise
Visit the Three Gorges Dam as you cruise upstream, enjoying dramatic scenery throughout. Enjoy a side trip to the Shennong or Goddess Stream as well as various shore excursions.

Day 14: Bullet Train to Guilin
Disembark the cruise ship in Chongqing then board the bullet train to Guilin. On arrival, take a walk around both Ronghu and Shanhu Lake to admire the Sun and Moon Pagodas.

Day 15: Li River Cruise
Take an idyllic cruise along the Li River to the charming town of Yangshou, admiring the karst peaks looming over the landscape.

Day 16: Yangshou
Begin your day with a Tai Chi Class followed by a reflexology massage. Explore the surrounding countryside before enjoying an afternoon at leisure.

Day 17: Yao Mountain
Return to Guilin, stopping at a tea plantation along the way. Then, take a ride up Yao Mountain on a cable car.

Day 18: Travel to Shanghai
Today fly to Shanghai. On arrival wander through the Xintiandi area to admire the traditional Shikumen architectural styling.

Day 19: Suzhou
Today travel to Suzhou. Suzhou is renowned for its gardens and you’ll visit one of the finest, the Humble Administrator’s Garden before returning to Shanghai for dinner.

Days 20-21: Shanghai
Visit a silk mill, followed by a stroll through the Yu Gardens. Then, head to Jin Mao for views over the city. Enjoy a cruise along the Huangpu River in the evening. The next day, explore Nanjing Road and People’s Square before heading to the Bund. This evening, watch a dazzling ERA acrobatic show.

Day 22: Shanghai – UK
Fly to the UK, arriving home the same or following day.
