Days 1-2: Fly to Beijing
Fly overnight to Beijing, China’s historical capital. Depending on your time of arrival the rest of the day is yours to start soaking up the local culture.

Day 3: Imperial Beijing
Start your exploration as you stroll across Tiananmen Square towards the Forbidden City. Enter through the Gate of Supreme Harmony and admire the complex. Later, visit the Temple of Heaven. In the evening, dine on Peking Duck.

Day 4: Great Wall of China
This morning, explore China’s most iconic landmark – the Great Wall. Spanning dramatic landscapes from the Yellow Sea to the Gobi Desert, it’s a breathtaking feat of engineering best appreciated on foot. Return to Beijing for a relaxing afternoon at the Summer Palace’s serene gardens. Visit a jade factory with the option to purchase handcrafted pieces. End the day with a captivating Chinese acrobatic show.

Day 5: Xian City Walls
This morning, take a bullet train to Xian. Later, enjoy a feast of Shui Jiao dumplings and a Tang Dynasty dance this evening.

Day 6: Terracotta Warriors
Spend the morning viewing the enigmatic ranks of life-like warriors who stand in their original formations at the exact location they were excavated. Visit the workshop of the craftsmen who recreate Terracotta Warriors in the style of their ancient counterparts. Later, take a stroll on the city walls and stop at a local brewery for a beer tasting.

Day 7: Yuanjia Village
Visit Yuanjia Village, a restored heritage village that offers a glimpse of Qing Dynasty architecture and traditional crafts. Later take a bullet train to Chengdu.

Day 8: Dujiangyan Panda Base
Visit Dujiangyan Panda Base which is dedicated to disease control and the rescue of wild pandas. Later on, visit Jinli street, full of antique shops and restaurants, before enjoying a delicious Sichuanese meal

Day 9: Giant Pandas
A visit to Chengdu’s famous Panda Conservation Centre allows you to see and learn about China’s celebrated bears. See them up close in surroundings that mirror their natural habitat as they chomp through piles of bamboo. Back in Chengdu, enjoy a cup of tea in a traditional teahouse before visiting Matchmakers Corner.

Day 10: Fly Chengdu to UK
Return flight to the UK, arriving home the same or following day.

Chengdu sits at the heart of a huge tea-producing region, so where better to stop in a traditional tea house to learn history and customs, and have a brew.

Visit Dujiangyan Panda Base
